Cherry Grove Farm's cattle and lambs live here on the farm from conception to processing. They never receive grain, antibiotics or hormones. In the spring, summer, and fall we practice rotational grazing in our pastures. The cattle and sheep are moved frequently to fresh grass allowing the recently grazed grass to regrow. In the winter they stay on the pasture eating grass silage and hay.
The breed of lambs we raise is called Katahdin. They are a hair sheep, which does not grow wool. The Katahdin is known for its meat quality and grazing ability.
Our Hereford cattle and Katahdin sheep are always handled gently and respectfully. Any other way of handling would go against our values and create a decline in meat quality. If you would like to try Cherry Grove Farm's Grassfed Beef and Lamb, check out our price lists.
