Cheesemaking Assistant
Incredibleseason ahead. Cherry Grove Farm is looking for someone keen to work with us making cheese in our wee creamery that does big things! We are looking for someone to join us ideally from late March through next winter (and beyond maybe). Work with us on making our line of award-winning cheeses and eventually learn to lead your own makes. Sensory training specific to cheese will be had - an appetite to taste cheese often is a must! There is a lot of repetitive scrubbing, brushing and washing work with cheese, that is the nature of the beast. A patient personality is a must. Pluses include any prior food safety experience, experience as a cheesemonger, or any experience or exposure to cheesemaking or kitchen experience. If you don't have these things don't fret, we've trained all sorts here but it sure is a plus to check one of the boxes.
Cheesemaking Apprentice
Cherry Grove Farm is looking for someone keen to learn by working with us making cheese in our wee creamery that does big things. We are looking for someone to join us ideally from NOW till Mid February 2027. However, FLEXIBLEfor the right fit!
Learn cheesemaking from udder to market, though your main focus will be, naturally, making cheese!
This includes learning loads of food safety, from training on milk & cheese basic microbio, to food safety plan education.
In the cheese room, you will learn the basic steps of cheesemaking, work with us on making our line of award winning cheeses and eventually learn to lead your own makes. Sensory training specific to cheese will be had - an appetite to taste cheese often is a must!
Fair warning, there is a lot of repetitive scrubbing, dishes, brushing and washing work with cheese, that is the nature of the beast. A patient personality is a must.
This is a great opportunity to work first-hand within our local food system with our quality farmstead products - cheese, pasture raised meats, eggs (sometimes) and honey--and enjoy a 30% discount in our farm store. On site housing is an option with free wifi and a shared kitchen.
Youdo not need prior cheesemaking experience for this at all. Though a familiarity with kitchen work in any way, or having been a cheesemonger, or even worked on a farm - any of those are big pluses. LOVE for cheese an obvious must and a desire to learn are the true essentials.

Farmers Market/Retail Associate
Cherry Grove Farm is looking for an outgoing and sales minded individual to work both in our farm store and at our outdoor markets. This role can look a couple different ways depending on your interests, and beyond working in our indoor farm store and markets can include cheese mongering, packaging, and possibly helping in the cheesemaking facility. The schedule is flexible, but availability for at least one weekend day is a must. With this position we're confident you'll become an expert in farmstead cheese, as well as grass-fed, regeneratively farmed beef and pork.
This position is part time with full time hours available in the main session (April - December). We are looking for people who are organized, have the ability to work independently and are adaptable. Responsibilities include market set-up/breakdown, cash handling and knowledge of our products. This is a great opportunity to work first-hand within our local food system with our quality farmstead products - cheese, pasture raised meats, eggs (sometimes) and honey. Within the job responsibilities you would have the opportunity to learn about dairy farming – and enjoy a 30% discount in our farm store!
If you have experience with cheese, butchering or culinary sales positions that's a plus but not necessary. We will train, and training involves lots of eating cheese! We have a lot of fun during tasting sessions and it’s a great opportunity to strengthen your palate.
Outdoor market shifts include commission where you get 10% above $500 as a bonus to your wage. Unless you have foul weather, this is very achievable and can add an extra 25-100$ to your wage. Markets are a great opportunity to get to meet other farmers too, and if you’re lucky you sometimes come home with free produce, bread, and other products.
Driver's license required to fulfil job duties. Must be able to lift ~50lbs. Will work in all weather outdoors
