Jam Making Workshop: Strawberry Jam
Making jam is a time-honoured tradition and one of the tastiest ways to preserve this area’s abundant fruit harvest. Strawberries are now in season.
In this class, we will make strawberry jam, one of the simpler jams to make. Even though strawberry jam is relatively easy to make, the lessons will provide the basics along with tips to take the fear of canning out of your jam experience.
Once you know how to work with one fruit, you can jam or can anything else. You will feel confident and prepared to preserve any of our local, abundant summer and fall fruit harvests - blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, peaches.
All materials will be provided and you will take home a half pint jar of jam that you have made in class. It will taste so much better than any store bought jam!
Class runs approximately 2 - 2.5 hours
